Dental Insurance – Canfield, OH

Save Money on a Straighter Smile

If you have dental insurance, you should certainly use it to the full. It can allow you to enjoy low-cost preventive and restorative care from your general dentist. But could it also be used to help you save money on a straighter smile? It is possible! Here at Mikolich Orthodontics in Canfield, we are ready and eager to help patients maximize their dental insurance benefits. Continue reading below to learn more about how we may be able to assist you.

How Dental Insurance Works

Every dental insurance policy is unique. It is important that you take a bit of time to familiarize yourself with your plan and all its details. In the meantime, we can provide this general overview of the coverage that is available with many standard PPO plans:

What Is the Difference Between Dental & Medical Insurance?

Medical insurance focuses on your overall health, and it is excellent for use in emergencies. For example, if you are bleeding severely from a facial wound or need major oral surgery, your medical insurance might cover part of your treatment’s cost. Dental insurance has a stronger focus on prevention, which is why it covers cleanings, exams, and, in some cases, orthodontic care.

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network

Regardless of whether we are in your plan’s network or out of it, we will be happy to accept your PPO plan and help you get the most out of your available benefits.

In-Network Coverage

If a practice is in-network with your insurance, it simply means they have a contract with one another. These contracts can control prices and encourage a certain standard of care. Often, out-of-pocket fees are lowest at in-network practices.

At Mikolich Orthodontics, we are proud to be in-network with:

Out-of-Network

PPO dental insurance plans allow you to visit any dentist or specialist (including orthodontists) without a referral. Therefore, even if we are not in your plan’s network, you are still more than welcome to visit us. We can file claims on your behalf, and you can expect many of the same benefits that you would enjoy at an in-network practice. Remember, partnering with an orthodontist and team whom you trust is more important than their network status!
